The Farmers market usually runs from May through October, while the RiverFront Market runs from June to September. Walking through Peoria is almost like taking a step back in time. The city was established in 1691 by renowned French Explorer Henri de Tonti and is the oldest European settlement in the state. The city is rich in history, its home to the writer of “Good Ship Lollipop,” Richard A Whiting, comedian Richard Pryor, museums, and hundred-year-old Victorian homes.
